The problem

Esports apparel was largely focused on performance and utility, leaving little room for fashion, cultural references, or visual identity. The challenge with Kappa was to design a competitive jersey that felt credible within esports while introducing a more fashionable and culturally driven aesthetic to an industry where this approach was not yet common.

My Creative Solution

I led the competitive esports partnership between FIVE Media Clan and Kappa, overseeing both the creative direction and design of the Call of Duty and Valorant competitive jerseys. The designs were inspired by Kappa’s iconic retro football kits from its era with FC Barcelona, reinterpreted through a modern esports lens. The goal was to blend nostalgia, fashion, and competitive identity into a jersey that could live both on stage and beyond competition. Alongside the product design, I acted as creative director for all campaigns and content related to the partnership from 2022 to 2024, leading digital campaigns, visual storytelling, and ongoing social media content.

The results

The jerseys sold out following their release and were widely recognized within the esports community, being considered one of the most beautiful competitive jerseys in the Call of Duty scene. The collaboration helped redefine how esports apparel could be perceived, merging competitive credibility with fashion and cultural relevance.
